Welcome to the New Digs

And no, Philadelphia hasn't burned down... yet.

I know, I know... I said Mondays for new newsletters, but I've got everything in order and wanted to kick things off early with a quick post. This helps me get a feel for the new platform while I prep the post for 11/7/22, which is going to be a hard one for me. Also, this gives me just another opportunity to gloat about Philadelphia sports right now!

Philadelphia Phillies

The craziest story out of Philadelphia sports is that our Phillies not only made it to the playoffs, but they also made it to the World Series. It's been so much fun watching the boys find a way to win and move on to the next leg of the postseason. The World Series has been exciting and nerve-wracking. While it's a shame we have to go back to Houston to bring the championship home again, game 3 in Philly was outstanding and should have shut anyone up that says we don't deserve to be here. Game 4 was obviously disappointing, but I tip my hat to the Astros—they outpitched us. Game 5... heartbreaking is all I can say. While the Game 4 loss instantly meant Phillies in 7 to me, last night's makes that an extremely hard task. But don't count the Fightins out yet—it would be the Phillies that come back after two losses at home and win it all, wouldn't it?

Philadelphia Eagles

Okay... maybe our undefeated Philadelphia Eagles at 8-0 is the craziest sports story out of Philadelphia? FLY, EAGLES, FLY!!! This 2022 team feels like the 2017 team in terms of spirit. They are having fun and taking each week as it comes. While Houston gave Philadelphia some problems in baseball, Houston had a BIG problem on Thursday regarding the Philadelphia Eagles! Next up, Washington and a likely 9-0 record.

Philadelphia Union

I'll be honest, I jumped on this bandwagon. I've been wanting to sit down and watch some Union games over the last year or two, but it was near impossible to catch on the plan for Verizon I had. With our switch to YouTube TV, I GET IT ALL BABY! Who knew how much fun it is to watch soccer? Oh, most of the world? I credit my kids, who play in a local league, for really getting me into soccer—the excitement I had watching them transferred right over to how our Union does it! With any luck, Union will be 1 of 2 teams bring Philadelphia a championship home this weekend!

I appreciate y'all allowing me in your inbox a couple of times in a 7-day span. With the announcement, we were switching newsletter platforms, this update, and Mondays to come, it's a lot. While this serves as more of a test than anything else, it's fun to share my love of Philadelphia sports with everyone! I hope Monday to have some celebratory comments before jumping into a deeper conversation, but either way, have a great weekend!

Ring the Bell. Fly, Eagles, Fly. DOOP.
