Summer, Summer, (Unofficial) Summer Time

Time to sit back and unwind

For those of us in the United States, it’s time for a long weekend with Memorial Day this Monday. It’s a day meant to mourn those who have died in service to our country, it’s a weekend where many of us have (or attend) a cookout, and it’s the weekend that cements that summer has arrived. Pools open, schools are almost out, and vacations are being planned.

Sigh… know that I wrote about 300-400 words about an infuriating topic, but that wasn’t supposed to be the point of this post, so I’m moving that to my actual blog. Just hug your kids and loved ones.

I’ve lost the energy

If I’m being honest, I don’t have the energy to write about the silly BS I work on. One would just scratch the newsletter, but there’s still something I want to say about the state of the country. Those in power—from police to politicians—have a single purpose: ensure those they are in power for are protected. Yes, there’s much more to those jobs, but at the heart of those jobs? Protect their community. Protect their citizens. And it’s not working.

The Definition of Insanity Revisited - Espressive

Instead of updating you on the bullshit I do, here’s what I want you to do—call your representatives and express your anger. Express your fear. Express something. And don’t stop. Vote in your primaries—in politics, change comes from the bottom up. Vote in November. It fucking matters.

This week’s newsletter is brought to you in part by anyMinis.
